The Lark’s Poetry Competition.
To have passion is to live.
To love till it aches is perfect pain.
Death cannot extinguish the desire,
The separation only enhances the longing.
One glance long ago lit this flame,
One touch of lips ignited the fire.
Wholeness of spirits joined,
Bodies neatly fitting,
Finding perfect symmetry.
How hollow is life without this?
Just dream, just dream.
Feel the warmth, the afterglow of passion.
With this comfort, life goes on.
Goes on to other passions.
Find a glimpse of lost lover,
In a grandchild’s eye, another’s wicked laugh.
Do not mourn too long,
Totter on, unsteady at first,
Then awaken to all you love.
Stay open, see the light,
Passion will guide you,
Until you rejoin in endless night.
